What is Project Passport?
It is a living environment designed especially for sophomores and/or transfer students!
Why Live in Project Passport?
Living in Project Passport gives you the opportunity to:
- Live with other sophomores & transfer students
- Share your experiences with each other as sophomores and transfers
- Work together, which will help you focus on your studies as well as your personal development, so that by the end of the year you will be well on your way to graduation.
- You can move in early
- Take special off campus trips
- Participate in special events and programs
Students in Project Passport will be living on the third floor of building three. Who Lives on the Project Passport Floor
- Sophomores
- Third Semester Freshmen
- Transfer Students
- Field Trips in Los Angeles.
- Move in before majority of other students and beat the hassle.
- Free social activities to encourage meeting new people.
- Receive academic support for transitioning to the next stages of college life.
- Students in Project Passport will also have the opportunity to plan their own events.
- Must be a third semester freshmen, sophomore and/or a transfer student.
- Must be able to attend the summer Passport retreat on August 20-21 of 2009.
- Must be able to live in Student Housing for the 2009-2010 academic year.
- Must be willing to participate and be active within the Project Passport community.
- There will be a one time $25 fee that will cover all event expenses.
- Must be able to move in early on August 19, 2009.
- Attend all check in meetings with a faculty or staff member.
- Why move in early?
- Moving in early will give students the opportunity to avoid any hassles of lines and also be able to take advantage of extra time to prepare for the Fall 2009 semester.
- What is the Passport Retreat?
- August 20 – 21 of 2009: The Passport Retreat is a series of events that will help students get a head start in getting re-acclimated with the CSUN campus. In addition, there will be off campus outings that will encourage students to explore Los Angeles. Social events are also planned for these two days to give students a chance to bond and meet the people on their floor.
- What are Check-in Meetings?
- Once per semester, students are required to meet with a faculty or staff for an academic and personal check up. This is just a brief conversation where we talk how you are doing academically and personally.
- What is expected of the student?
- Students must be able to attend all the programs scheduled for the Passport retreat.
- Students are required to participate in 1 community service project per semester, in student dialogues & floor activities.
- Attend all check-in meetings.
